Frost Knives Quality
Frost Knives Quality

Is there anybody out there that can give me information on this double edge knives?
I’ve been searching all over the web for some information on these type of knives and have found nothing other than they’re from Frost made in Japan. I have 3 of them and bought them in a estate sale. They look and feel high quality and they look pretty old too. The first thing you notice when you hold them is how heavy they are and the handle is made of solid metal (except the serrated one). I have another one just like the one in these pictures but on the blade it says ” mississippi gambler” and another that is a bit smaller partly serrated and it says “river boat tickler”. Any info will be greatly appreciated.
Those were made in the early to mid 80’s and are next to impossible to find any more in new condition. Any time you see the Frost “surgical steel” Japan stamp, it dates it. It’s a high quality Frost rendition of a Gerber Mk1 combat knife. They did a second one around that same time that was identical to one.
No idea on the stamp, though. I’ve never seen them with marked blades before.
Funny thing….Frost, at that time, was making dozens, if not hundreds, of different combat daggers etc….they copied pretty much every famous fighting knife that ever existed in some form or another. Good, high quality work, too. They made such a name for themselves that their own work was eventually copied. You can find that same exact Frost design made by dozens of different makers in various levels of quality.
If you sold those on Ebay, you could get up to $20-30 or so depending on who was bidding. Those early Frost knives have a collector following.
